Mangrove Yellow Warbler

Flipping briskly through tangled prop roots and sunlit canopies, these vibrant songbirds glean caterpillars, midges, and small spiders from mangrove foliage. Males defend coastal territories year-round with sweet, whistling song bursts that carry easily across tidal mudflats and tidal creeks. Unlike their migratory northern cousins, these resident tropical warblers remain tied to coastal wetlands throughout their entire lives.
