Red Kangaroo

Also known as Red Marloo, Plains Kangaroo

Red kangaroos bound across the arid Australian interior in social groups called mobs, using powerful hind legs to cover vast distances efficiently. Adult males sport rich reddish-brown coats and muscular upper bodies, while females are smaller and often display a subtle blue-grey hue. These iconic marsupials rest in the shade of eucalyptus trees during the heat of the day and browse on grasses and shrubs under the cooler cover of dusk and dawn.
